GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™

Rules

The Largest Witches’ Costume Contest:

• Make sure you are dressed in what would be considered Western World Witch attire. What does that mean? Please make sure you look like you’re about to spread witchery, whatever that means to you. It doesn’t need to be fancy or expensive, it just needs to represent the look of a witch.

• The parade of witches (which😉 is the actual “Walk,”) will be the contest itself.

• Judges will be learning about to pick 10 contestants that they feel stand out.

• Should you not be chosen, fear not, Witch, you’ll still be part of a potentially record setting event and that makes you officially magical!✨

• Should you be chosen, you’ll have to answer 3 questions on video:
     1.  What inspired your costume?
     2.  What was the process in putting it together?
     3.  What does it mean for you to be chosen as a Golden Broom winner and therefore member of The Supreme Coven?

• These videos will be placed on our website the morning of October 19th for virtual voting until Halloween.

GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ cannot deem the attempt successful until a winner is chosen. Therefore, only a Golden Broom winner be announced on Halloween, but also (should the spirits mote it be) a Guinness World Records Rules will be set.

The Largest Witches’ Dance:

• At the end of the walk, we will do the traditional witches’ dance as always.

• We need to be dancing for at least 5 minutes. This means that we will need to loop the song. We normally repeat the dance for 2 rounds before we go into the “Egyptian” move. This year, we will need to do it 4 times and then the Egyptian.

• You need to be dancing to the best of your ability. If you lose your place, DO NOT STOP, just follow the witch in front of you and keep on dancing.

• There will be 1 steward for every 100 participants watching. Should 10% of participants not complete the dance to the best of their ability, the attempt will be deemed unsuccessful.

• Should the attempt be made official, our adjudicator will announce it THAT NIGHT!
